Blacks & Whites:
50th Anniversary Edition
The original tabletop game about race, privilege and racial inequity in real estate and American society.
ABOUT THE GAME
Blacks & Whites: 50th Anniversary Edition is a modern reimagining of the 1970s underground board game by Prof. Robert Sommer of UC Davis. Created as a bold critique of Monopoly, the original exposed systemic racism in real estate and American society with a mix of dark humor and unflinching satire.
Now, 50+ years later, our 21st-century refresh brings those themes into the present with updated artwork, reimagined gameplay, and explorations of modern issues like gentrification and reparations – all coated in comedy while grounded in reality.
Designed for educators, families, and anyone who believes play can lead to perspective, our game is a conversation starter, an educational tool, and a lens into the economics of prejudice.
Blacks & Whites: 50th Anniversary Edition transforms game night into something timely, unforgettable, and often uncomfortably funny.
